Fallen Officers Commemorated in Casino Poker Tournament
7 Dec 2006
Phil Hellmuth, a poker champion and well-known name among both online casino and regular poker players, will be the host of a very important tournament in December. He will host the 'Playin' the Hand' Charity Poker Tournament for Fallen Officers at the Fort McDowell Casino outside of Phoenix, Arizona on December 9th, 2006. He will be doing this in conjunction with the TASER Foundation for Fallen Officers. Online casino and land-based poker fans can follow this tourney and learn from great players, taking the tricks of the trade they pick up to the online casinos.
'Since 9/11, the work of the TASER Foundation has touched my heart. Thus, I am waiving any fees I would normally ask for and am looking forward to attending the event and helping in any way I can,' said Phil on his blog. Each year, over 150 law enforcement men and women are killed while on duty and, from the support of such an organization as the TASER Foundation, their families are provided with resources to help them carry on. This organization looks after the families of police officers from the US and Canada after their loved one is injured or perishes while performing their very difficult and dangerous job. Online casino sites would do a great service to donate to this charity, and online casino players would be giving to a very worthy cause while playing their favorite games.
There will be a series of poker tournaments that will take place during the day with great prizes for simply participating in the event. In the end of the entire event, the final three players from the US 200 dollar tournament and the top three players from the US 1,000 dollar event, will play to see who will walk take home the biggest prize of the day - a seat at the Main Event for the 2007 World Series of Poker. So all of you online casino poker fans out there who would like to be a part of this event - seats are limited! So sharpen your poker skills at the online casino and sign up to be a part of this special tournament.
